Grade 12 · Ontario curriculum
SPH4U tutoring — Physics
SPH4U is required for engineering and physical sciences programmes. It is mathematically heavier than SPH3U and assumes comfort with the algebra and trigonometry from Grade 11 functions.
What SPH4U covers
- Dynamics and forces in two dimensions
- Energy and momentum
- Gravitational, electric and magnetic fields
- The wave nature of light
- Revolutions in modern physics: quantum mechanics and special relativity
Prerequisite
SPH3U
Where the marks go
Fields and momentum. Field problems require translating a physical situation into vectors before any calculation, and momentum questions punish sign errors that students rarely catch on their own.
How we teach SPH4U
A weekly 60-minute live class with a batch of three students, all taking SPH4U and all at roughly the same point in it. We follow the Ontario school calendar, so the class covers the unit your child’s teacher is covering. Cadence doubles in the four weeks before a final.
How it works
Four steps, one week.
Tell us the course
Grade and course code. Don’t know the code? Send a photo of the timetable on WhatsApp and we’ll find it.
We confirm the slot
Within one business day, matched to the class already working at your child’s point in the course.
Your child attends
A 40-minute live lesson, free. You’re welcome to sit in on it.
You get the diagnostic
Written, within 48 hours. Then you decide, with no follow-up pressure either way.
