Grade 9 Ontario curriculum tuition

Grade 9 is de-streamed in Ontario. English, mathematics, science and geography are now taught as single combined courses rather than at academic and applied levels, which means one classroom holding a very wide range of starting points. Grade 9 marks don't count toward university admission, but the foundations built here decide what is possible in Grade 11 and 12.

What we work on in Grade 9

Closing gaps carried over from Grade 8 — particularly fractions, integers and early algebra — and building the note-taking and study routines that make Grade 10 survivable. Most Grade 9 problems are not intelligence problems. They are habit problems, and habits are easier to fix at 14 than at 17.

Why Academy X

Taught by course code. Not by guesswork.

Your child isn’t struggling with “math.” They’re struggling with rational functions in MCR3U, in week six, with a test on Thursday. That’s the level we teach at.

Live, not recorded

Timetabled lessons with a teacher in the room. Recordings exist as a backup for a missed week, not as the course itself.

Batches of 3

Three students. Not ten, not twenty. Small enough that nobody hides, and every student is worked with individually inside the hour.

Assigned by course

Teachers are matched to the specific Ontario course they teach, and stay with that course. Nobody is handed a subject they last saw years ago.

In sync with school

We follow your child’s school calendar, so the class is on the unit their teacher is covering this week.
