IB Diploma Programme
The IB is lost on criteria. We teach the criteria.
Ontario IB students carry a double load — the Diploma Programme alongside OSSD graduation requirements. The Diploma is rarely lost on content. It is lost on assessment criteria that are demanding, specific, and rarely taught explicitly in class.
Subjects
Higher and Standard Level.
Mathematics
Analysis and Approaches (AA) and Applications and Interpretation (AI), both HL and SL. The step up from MYP or IGCSE mathematics catches most students off guard.
Sciences
Biology, Chemistry and Physics at HL and SL, including the practical and data-analysis skills the Internal Assessment depends on.
Languages & Individuals
English A Language and Literature, English A Literature, Economics, Business Management, Psychology, History, Geography, French B and Spanish B.
The Core
Where the points actually move.
Internal Assessments
Around 20% of the final grade in most subjects, and where the most avoidable marks are lost. We work to the published criteria, band by band.
Extended Essay
Research question framing, methodology and supervision-ready drafting across the full 4,000 words.
Theory of Knowledge
The prescribed-title essay and the exhibition, both of which reward a structural approach students are rarely shown.
CAS
Planning a portfolio that is genuine, documented and finished on time rather than assembled in a panic.
An honest note on academic integrity
We teach, mentor and give feedback. We do not write, co-write or edit a student’s IA, Extended Essay or TOK work into something that is no longer theirs. Every IB coordinator knows the difference, and so do the moderators.
Doing both
IB and the OSSD, together.
Ontario students in an IB programme are also working toward the Ontario Secondary School Diploma. That means the 30 credits, the 40 hours of community involvement and the literacy requirement sit underneath the Diploma Programme, and OUAC applications run on the Ontario timetable regardless of what the IB calendar is doing.
We plan both together, because a student who nails their IB predicted grades and misses an OSSD requirement is in exactly the same trouble as one who did the reverse.

Do you tutor both IB and the Ontario curriculum?
Yes. Ontario IB students are completing OSSD graduation requirements alongside the Diploma Programme, including the literacy requirement and 40 hours of community involvement. We support both sides.
Which IB subjects do you cover?
Mathematics AA and AI at HL and SL, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, English A Language and Literature, English A Literature, Economics, Business Management, Psychology, History, Geography, French B and Spanish B.
Can you help with Internal Assessments and the Extended Essay?
Yes. We mentor students through IA design, data handling and criterion-referenced writing, and through Extended Essay research question framing, methodology and supervision-ready drafts. We do not write any part of a student's work.
When should we start for May exams?
Most students begin subject support in the autumn of DP2 and add an exam intensive from February. IA and EE mentoring usually starts earlier, in DP1.
